Office Visits

What days do you see patients?

We are open for appointments on Monday- Saturday at our Holliston office and Tuesday & Wednesday at our Boston office. For the Holliston office call 508-429-3895 to make an appointment. For the Boston office call 617-981-2039 to make an appointment.

What happens on my first visit?
Your first visit will typically last 45 minutes to an hour. One of our practitioners will speak with you about your history and will establish the best manner in which she can help you. They will then determine your Chinese diagnosis and give you a treatment and recommended follow-up schedule.

What kinds of treatments should I expect?
Treatment is individual to each patient. We evaluate each patient during the initial consultation, and will then decide what treatment is appropriate. Treatments may include acupuncture, auricular acupressure, herbs, and or exercise.

Does Insurance Cover Services and Treatments?

We do not directly process insurance claims. However, we can provide you a payment report if you need to submit your own claim to your insurance company along with your receipts for reimbursement.

When are the Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercise classes?
For current and next session information, please see the class schedule. Classes are generally held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings

How do I choose a Tai Chi or Qi Gong class?
Exercise classes may be chosen a number of ways. There are descriptions of the classes which may help you to decide which class or classes you might enjoy.  In addition, you are welcome try a class (for a small fee of $20), or to come and watch at any time.

What is Tai Chi and Qi Gong?
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese exercise for health, spiritual growth and self defense. It has been proven effective in healing the body and mind for many centuries. The slow, beautiful movements and controlled breathing harmonize the energy flow in the body.

Qigong has also been called "Chinese Yoga." It increases the body's energy through gentle stretching, correct breathing, and mind focus. Qigong is a type of self-therapy often prescribed as a remedy by Chinese Doctors. It is proven to relieve many ailments: back pain, neck and shoulder problems, cardiac ailments, low energy, immune function, GI problems, muscle stiffness, arthritic complaints and many other difficulties. It also improves your posture! It can be practiced even if you are ill or recovering from surgery. Over time, Qigong will lengthen your days; and improve the quality of your life, happiness, and health.

Are any classes in Boston?
Not currently. But if you e-mail to Dr. Kuhn, she will tell you when classes may start in near future. Or she will refer you to other teachers in Boston area.

What should I wear for taking the class?
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. T shirt, shorts or sweat pants, wear indoor shoes to keep class room clean. You can also be bare foot if you wish.

How many people are in the class?
It varies, from 4 to 10. People are very supportive in our Tai Chi classes. You will feel comfortable right away.

How long it will take me to learn?
Tai Chi is a journey, the more you learn, the more benefits you will have. Every session you participate you learn new things.

Tai Chi Instructor Training Course

Is experience required to take this course?
No. As long as you are passionate about this kind of art.

What is involved to get certification?
You need to complete two weekend training courses, with full participation. The first course is in the fall, the second course is in early spring. The schedule is posted on website.

Do I need to take more courses after I get my certification? Is my certification life time?
Basically, after you get your certification you can teach at a community level. If you continue to learn, you will advance yourself and have more to offer to your students. You will have more followers. Your certification is lifetime for community level. This does not guarantee you will be a good teacher. Good teachers start by being good students and being willing to learn, willing to practice diligently. Tai Chi is a journey, which means the learning never stops.

Do I need to take additional courses after I receive my certification?
After you get your certification you can teach in community near you, at level I. If you continue to learn, you will advance yourself and have more to offer to your students. You will have more followers. Good teachers start by being good students and by being willing to learn. You may have students ask you questions that you don’t know how to answer; but with continued learning, you will be able to answer more questions.

Wellness Tui Na Training Course

Do I need experience to take this training? What is the qualification to take this training?
You don’t need to have experience to take this training. But you do need to have physical stamina and a good attitude, and passion for this kind hands on healing work.

What is the difference compared to massage therapy?
Tui Na is deeper body work and with more energetic technique. For healing purposes, the Tui Na is much more effective because it works on body energy channels and removes stagnation on the energy pathways.

We have had many massage therapists taking this training course and they absolutely love it. As a result of this course, their client numbers have increased. This means the massage therapists can bring more income after taking this course.
